Details

Flying Tigers P 40C 3rd Pursuit Sq., (Hells Angels) AVG This WW2 Aircraft nose art panel has been created using an up-cycled aluminium section of aircraft fuselage. The design is based on that used on the Flying Tigers, P 40C fighter aircraft of the 3rd Pursuit Squadron (Hells Angels) AVG. These aircraft went into action over Burma on 20 December 1941. Over the next six months, the AVG claimed - and was paid for – 294 Japanese aircraft downed. This total is somewhat controversial, but the debate over its accuracy perhaps misses the point - the AVG gave Americans pride and hope amid the tears and fears of early 1942. Dimensions: 1100mm x 530mm
